Fat Gene?

Reuters: "Icelandic researchers said on Tuesday they had found a gene that in different versions determines whether people are predisposed to being obese or thin. Icelandic biotechnology company deCODE genetics Inc says it has isolated a specific gene which, in different forms, tends to make us either overweight or underweight."

The evidence is still out, but I really don't think that being fat is like being tall or having red hair.

Well, i think that it would be reasonable to say that SOME people may have a gene which would TEND to send them towards over-under weights.

i think that a lot of the early identified genetic markers will be great clues, and will be fairly accurate for people with the active genes, but won't account for other occurances of the tribute out in the general--not active gene--marker.

but then, i just make pretty pictures in photoshop, and really have no idea why i think i know this stuff. Any geneticists in the house?
