As if NBC's Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien fiasco wasn't enough to get you to turn off your TV for a while, a new study finds that watching TV increases your risk of early death.
Couch potatoes beware, every hour spent watching TV daily increases your risk of dying from heart disease by 18 percent. Spend an average of four or more hours a day in front of the tube? You could be upping your risk by a whopping 80 percent.

Middle-Age Spread May Reduce Chance of Long Life
Lots of people think it's okay, normal even, to pack on 10 pounds or more a decade. We call it middle-age spread. But, those extra pounds may decrease a woman's risk of leading a long, healthy life free of chronic disease.
Published in the British Medical Journal, this latest study to tackle the connection between weight gain and life expectancy, found the more weight a woman gained in mid-life, the less likely she was to be healthy and disease free (or even alive) after age 70.

Angry Guys More Likely to Gain Weight

And men are notoriously more hot headed, usually more so than girls, with the exception of the occasional jaded ex-girlfriend, but for guys being easily agitated may pack on the pounds.
French researchers claim the more hostile a man's attitude is, the more likely he is to have a higher body mass index (BMI) during the following two decades.

Can Water-Rich Foods Help Maintain Weight?

Drinking cold water, some researchers say, can help you burn a few extra calories. The science behind it is fairly straightforward; because the temperature of the water is far colder than that of your body, you burn a few calories warming it up. As you can tell, I'm not all that impressed.
