Diet Gatorade: For the Armchair Exerciser

PepsiCo have announced they will sell a "diet" version of Gatorade.
"[Gatorade] is formulated for athletes while they are working out, she said the lower-calorie version would be marketed to athletes for use when they were less active." (NY Times)There is something slightly oxymoronic about this. It's a bit like a "less-active" cyclist eating a low-carb banana.

How Much Water Should You Drink?

We all know the importance of adequate hydration. However, water consumption requires a balance of sorts and it's entirely possible to drink too much water. Over-hydration and hyponatremia - although rare - can be a problem (particularly among endurance athletes).

Is Gatorade Bad For You?

Brian has asked if he can query the "hive mind". His question: Is Gatorade Bad For You?
I had a teacher in high school tell me that gatorade that comes from a bottle is actually too concentrated to properly re-hydrate a person and requires dilution. I love the drink for after a work out, so I was wondering if this is true or not.» Continue...
