Meth Weight Loss: Self-Destruction

Recently a small survey revealed some of the weight management "props" that are used by women in college. Unfortunately the problem gets darker: methamphetamine use - for the purpose of losing weight. These drugs are powerful stimulants that are highly addictive. The problem has been around for many years, and continues to snare the unwary.

"A couple of guys ... said it was something fun to do," Rizzo recalls. "There was another girl with me, and she's like, 'I heard it makes you skinny.' I said, 'OK, let's do it.' "
That split-second decision..., changed Rizzo's life forever. (via)

3 Years of Meth Use (before/after)
Crystal Meth is no simple appetite suppressant, it's a stealer of souls with an evil list of side effects.

Blowing the lid on illegal drug use for weight loss is like picking off a scab - many other painful secrets may lie beneath. Drug use abounds in certain celebrity circles and despite the claims of "I eat whatever I want and still remain skinny" - I suspect there are other more nefarious substances at work.

If you have friends who are experimenting with illicit drugs - it's time to find new friends. Would you hang out with someone who played around with a loaded gun?

There is never a happy ending to any of these stories. If you are unhappy with your weight - this is not the answer. Walk away from it. Right now.

I know my sister's had issues with this. She takes a prescribed amphetamine for ADD and has been asked thousands of times by her friends if she'd sell them some so they could lose weight and be "superwoman". She always says no, but it's scary to see the use of meth on the rise. It's a very unstable compound and the homemade versions that are sold on the streets are very dangerous.

The image of that woman speaks volumes. It's that sort of shock value that sometimes jolts someone into reality.

I was on meth (both smoking it and snorting it) for about 2 months with my husband, I was already so addicted that we would have these fights if I had any thought that maybe he went somewhere and did it and I didn't get any, it gave me so much energy and I didn't want to eat anything, at the time I thought it was great, but luckily I got pregnant and quit cold turkey, she's my angel she was sent to me to save me because if I hadn't gotten pregnant theres no telling what would have happened. When my husband quit he went through horrible withdrawl there was one night I was in bed with him asleep and he woke me up and said I keep having these thoughts like what if I just kill you and the baby in your tummy, slit your throat, and I had to stay by him to reassure him that he's okay and to talk about it and we'd get through it. he had panic attacks and insomnia, but he's great now, and I think it made us stronger. A friend of his lost everything to meth, his wife and daughter, all his possesions went to pay for meth and last we heard his wife moved accross the country and he was sleeping in a parking lot. This is not a drug to try even once. It's very attractive when you on it. And you don't even realize how much of a crackhead you look like untill it's too late.

I think that any drug should be illegal. Statin drugs should be illegal.

The real drugs for weight loss is: organic fruits and vegtables (No corn, or potatoes, please), organic dairy products (milk, yogurt, cheese, ice cream), and organic meat (Bison and Ostrich is preferred as well as oily fish). Grains? In moderation. Processed foods like little debbies, cocoa puffs, or honey-nut cherrios? Avoid them.

Please avoid vegetarian, low-fat, or fad diets like Weight Watchers, Jenny Creg, or so-called Cabbage Soup Diet. Don't follow the food guide pyramid and don't use the toaster or the microwave.

James, You're an idiot. This is the most idiotic dietary advice I can imagine. Avoid vegetarianism? Ostrich? You do not know what you're talking about.

Since when is Weight Watchers a fad diet?

I was on meth for about three years and gained a lot of weight when I quit. I've started this support group here in my home town called, "Changing Our Image". The theme is the South Beach Diet, followed by lots of support. Losing some of the weight I gained has already helped my self-esteem and I want for other women to feel the same way. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could reach the women who want to come but don't?

I was addicted to Meth for a number of years. I sought treatment for this addiction and I have been clean ever since. Check out the website if you need help.
