I truly appreciate the information you share in this blog. It is so helpful!
Concerning CalorieKing, I use their portion watch tool all the time. I also bought their book with all the info on so many foods. If someone buys it, I suggest you get it at a book store. I had to wait a long time, buying from them, then found out most bookseller have it, and if you have one nearby, no shipping & handling!
ReplyHi!
Great list -- I'd also like to suggest our website: Calorie-Count.com
We offer one of the largest, searchable, organized food nutrition databases (more than 40k items) coupled with a food log, activity log, personal weight loss journals. You can communicate with our more than 70,000 members on the forums and by making friends with similar interests.
In addition we have just released the "Eat Meter" toolbar for Internet Explorer and Firefox which helps keep you on track with your daily calorie goal.
ReplyI've used NutriDiary for the past 5 months and have found that's it is easy and quick to track my meals. In addition tracking individual foods you eat, you can also create "meals" that you have often and simply click the entire meal to be added to your daily log. For instance I often have a dinner of grilled chicken breast, small baked potato, carrots and broccoli. Instead of entering each of those food individually, I just click that dinner/meal item I created and it's added to my log.
It also tracks all the nutritional information for your daily intake. Which has proven to be useful several times. A month ago my Dr. suggested I take a calcium supplement so that my total intake would equal 1200mg. I was able to pull up the report of my last 10 weeks and found that my daily average of calcium was already at 600mg, so I just adjusted the supplement accordingly.
Check it out, it's really easy and oh so helpful!

I'm a big FitDay fan myself. It's great if you like to track your progress and input your food and activities for the day. I also like CalorieKing...awesome list~thanks!
ReplyFitday is great --- especially for weight tracking, I think - because it's good to see that you're in a better place from one year ago, definitely helps with the motivation!
ReplyErik, I love calorie-count.com The database is probably the best out there. I have a similar site but in Portuguese, and I aspire to have a database as great as yours. Mine is still the most comprehensive in Portuguese, so if anyone who speaks the language wants to check it out:

And yes, it is 100% free.
Replyhey i really am kind of off he subject but i need some help to i need to loose 10lbs quick for a bikini comptiotion what do i do ????
ReplyTrisha: quick loss is water loss. Absolutely no salt, no carb, and tons of water. From what I hear from people who do these competitions, they live on chicken breasts with lemon and herbs, lettuce, celery, and a gallon of water for like a week before the day. Then the day before it, they take diuretics or drink distilled water to lose even more water.
ReplyI just wanted to say that I checked the website, CalorieKing. It no longer exist. But I think that your website answer many of my questions and the tools you offer are very helpful. Thank you very much
