Red Bull Gives You Wings?

By in Drinks

Sales of the energy drink Red Bull have overtaken both Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke. Even though the volume of Red Bull sold is much smaller, it’s higher price means big sales revenue. Energy drinks are growing in popularity and Coca-cola has launched their own brand – Full Throttle – but are these drinks good?i-b2a0a6dc80e516bd65fbc3c1d9dd146e-red-bull.jpg
Most are loaded with sugar, and of course stimulants such as caffeine. They might sound like an exercise booster – but caffeine is a diuretic, and if exercising you must remain hydrated. Energy drinks aren’t really the answer – although many a bodybuilder will slurp down a strong black coffee prior to a workout to provide an extra energy boost.

Energy drink advertising has to rank as one of the most successful marketing ploys in recent times. Kids plead for V to quench their thirst. Office workers turn to it for that “mid-afternoon wake-up call”. Red Bull and vodka is popular in bars as a pick-me-up starter to the evening. Energy drinks are sold on the dance floor, at the sports field, and even at the gym. (via)

Sugary drinks are arguably the quickest way to load up on calories – they are available on virtually every street corner. Of course you could go for a frappucino instead – and end up consuming 728 calories (Starbucks White Hot Chocolate with Whip).

Learning to drink water is one of the best things you can do when trying to manage your weight.

LOOOOOK!! Here’s the real fact!! Look it up! “1″ cup of Caffeine Red Bulls ,Coffee etc.. creates a false metabolism in your body that last for up to 4 hours, that means every time you drink 1 cup energy drink= 4hrs Falsr metabolism 2cups=8 etc. When you quit drinking these kinds of drinks you WILL get fatter, your body hasn’t had to do any of the work it’s self and has become dependant on caffeine/taurine to supplement it’s own functions. ” Don’t start drinking this S***! If you are stop “Cold turkey”
I drank Red bulls, So-be for 3 years, gained weight when I was drinking them, now that I’ve stopped I’ve watched my weight skyrocket!!!40 pounds in 6 months,
still exercise the same, still eat the same, doctor says it was going to take a while for my own body’s functions to kick in again. Good luck !

I agree 100% My sister has been getting painfully thin over the last year and i never knew her secret. I do now. She drinks about 6 cans of red bull a day instead of eating, although she does eat an evening meal. I decided to try it. I have been drinking around 3 cans a day for 6 weeks, i have definitely lost half a stone or more, everyone says, you have lost loads of weight, are you ok. OK ? i am thrilled, i have found the cheap alternative “KICK” has almost exactly the same content if you read the label but at a quarter of the cost. I now buy 1 litre bottles which i consume at work throughout the day instead of tea or coffee. I too did research and cannot see anyhting harmful, all i know is i am looking thinner and feeling fitter. i will get down to the size i want to be and then i will quit drinking it to see if i regain the weight. This is such a quick fix to weight issues, i am pleased to share this new found secret.

Obviously RedBull doesn’t give F1′s mark Webber Wings!!!

Actions speak louder than words. Taking Webber’s wing and putting on Vettel’s car shows who are calling the shots. The Redbull/Mercedes marketing demographic is why the team are behind Vettel before they are behind Webber.

Vettel drives and acts like a spoil brat. If that’s what Redbull and Mercedes marketers want to be associated with then they can keep F1. I am appalled and will not watch the rest of the season. Too much about money and not teamwork and the sport…..

I am not sure why every one is say that 250 ml of Red Bull has 110 Calories.

The one I buy in my country (India) says on the tin that per 100 ml has 45 kcal. That amounts about 112,500 calories every 450 ml !!

I can only speak for myself. I found that drinking a red bull before my martial arts class helps me get through it. I DON’T, however drink one every day. It’s kinda like Popeye when he eats spinach. Only when he needs to. my other drinks are mostly water. But you CANT just drink an energy drink just because it looks cool, colorful or powerful. Drink only when absolutely necessary.

and with the touch conditioning I go through in class. PLEASE NOTE: I go to class twice a week and run on otherdays to get my wind up *ENDURANCE IS KEY IN MARTIAL ARTS*. So that’s my take on it. the energy in energy drinks are to be USED for something. And yes my waistline has gone inward these days. lots of cardio baby!!!

It’s a myth. Rumour says that it’s Taurine that’s derived from a bull’s testicles and hence the name ‘Red Bull’, but like I said it’s a myth. Taurine is naturally present in your brain and muscles, detoxifies your body and is also present in baby-food, so how harmful can it be? Infact, all ingrediants present in Red Bull are naturally present in your body, except for caffiene which is the only external ingrediant (and if you’re worried about the caffiene content, the caffiene present in Red Bull is lesser than what’s present in an average cup of filter coffee). Hope this was informative :D
