Healthy Diet Improves Immune System
With good eating habits, you are much less likely to get sick. Research from the The World Cancer Research Fund estimates that up to 40 percent of cancers could be avoided by eating better:
Based upon research to date, we are all advised to eat five portions of a combination of fruit and vegetables every day. It is sensible advice that no one should ignore. Tomatoes are main sources of the antioxidant lycopene, which gives them their rich, red color. A regular intake of processed tomatoes - purees, pastes, canned tomatoes and good quality ketchup could cut the risk of heart disease and cancers.Fresh tomatoes are best for vitamin C. Cherry tomatoes are richest in flavonoids - antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals.
Put peppers in your salad. Not only do they contain a natural decongestant, but also they are a rich source of antioxidants and stimulate digestion. Include lots of brightly colored peppers in your salad, or char-grill them to add color to any meal.
Broccoli contains cancer-fighting agents such as glucosinolates, which break down to form suplhorophanes that fight cancers. Spinach is a great source of folic acid, helpful for protecting unborn babies from spinal defects, but also protects against heart disease, depression, diabetes, and colonic cancer.
Carrots contain the antioxidant Beta-carotene, which gives them their deep orange color. This can be converted into vitamin A, which is needed for healthy skin, immunity and night vision.
Bananas are splendid snacks because they are so filling and boost our energy levels. They are also a great source of potassium, which regulates the body's water balance and helps prevent high blood pressure.
Kiwi fruit contain more vitamin C than any other fruit. One kiwi will provide 40% of our daily requirement of vitamin C, which is very important when fighting aging. Cambridge University researchers have reported that people with high levels of vitamin C in their blood are less likely to die from cancer, heart disease, or stroke.

When our own immune systems are performing at their best, they orchestrate their defenses through countless chemical conversations among T-cells and antibodies, enabling these defenders to calibrate their response to pathogens. In the same way, the thousands of power plants and substations in the grid need to be able to communicate with one another when any part of the system is breached, so they can collectively decide which circuit breakers should be tripped and which can safely remain intact.
ReplyAlex,
You sound very knowledgable. If a person has a poorly performing immune system: allergies, psoriasis, poor sleep habits, where/how would you suggest starting to rebuild???
